Lately there's been a lot of stuff in the news. Let's unionize Microsoft becase its programmers are so taken advantage of! Microsoft's salaries aren't keeping up with inflation! Microsoft's employee evaluations are political and unfair! Bollocks. Look around: compeition is alive and well in the software industry.
After a round of patches from HP I was rewarded with a media center PC that insisted it was overheating, even when I just turned it on. It turns out that HP has a hard time writing software that works under a non-admin account.
