There is a lot of useless stuff on the web. We've cataloged it here.
Education
Where I'm getting my MBA.
The University of Wyoming, where I went to school. Colder than that hot girl at the bar you always try to talk to, but a damn good school.
Go Aggies! My alma mater located in lovely Logan, UT.
Friends
My friend Chris's web site, SimpleGeek, is a daily web log. My web log kind of stinks because, well, I don't do that much. Chris, on the other hand, appears to do a whole hell of a lot.
ChuckJ is blogging! Chuck is one of the founding fathers of Borland's Delphi and has recently joined the ranks of Microsoft.
My good friend Ivo, who I've spent few sober moments. Currently he's living in Germany and behaving very badly.
Another co-worker and friend. I'm not sure I approve of the neon orange layout, but her approach to programming-based site graphics is interesting.
Jonathan Savage is a longtime friend of Danna's that just happened to land in the same spot on the globe. He is a real estate agent working in Seattle, and even helped us to get our condo. What are friends for?
A Co-worker of mine who just started blogging. His blog site has the interesting characteristic of showing both English and French posts, and even figures out what you'd like based on the language in your browser. Kewl.
Justin Meads and Laura McAnany are an odd couple. They're not odd because they're strange, their odd because of their relationship to Danna and Brian. Justin is Danna's best friend since childhood, and Laura was Brian's old girlfriend in high school. Laura's dad once called Brian "Ten Kinds of Ugly" long before he knew that Laura was actually dating him. How the four of us hooked up the way we did is beyond us.
Check out some of Kent's original artwork.
Kevin is a long time college buddy. One of my favorite college memories is Kevin walking into a party with wearing a small backpack with his last name on it in black marker: "Knapp". "What's in the Knapp sack?", I asked. God I loved that crack. Maybe I did too many drugs in college.
My friend Marc's site. Marc parted ways with the Evil Empire a few years ago so he could travel Europe and fiddle with Unix. That's Unix with an "X".
My best friend, Katie Heckel, set sail to Hawaii with her husband, Todd Heckel and two friends, Grady Leno and Russ Morgan. They sailed on their 36' boat, Tecino. Brian provided dry land IT support and kept the ocean rookies website updated with their ocean updates. Read all about their adventure and even the recipes they served on the boat.
Todd Heckel was the very first person I met after starting to work at Microsoft. He definitely put me on the right track, quickly showing me where the weekly beer bashes were. Todd is the luckiest man alive. He once went to Vegas and won $8000 in one hand of Let it Ride. This money became known lovingly as "The Wad". Whenever you wanted to really load up and party, just grab The Wad off of the coffee table and go. The Wad helped us through many a blurry night. Be sure to check out Todd's Fleet of Cars™ while you're at his site. He has quite a collection.
Geek
Web site devoted to little geeky toys that I'm addicted to.
Urban Potato's "sister site", where I keep all of my software for the PocketPC.

Information
Alexa is a different kind of search engine. You type in a site name and it tells you the site's ranking on the internet, along with a list of other sites that link to it. It's a very useful tool to work your way through the internet. Mohair Sofa ranks 520,555! Urban Potato doesn't get nearly as much traffic; it's ranked at 2,290,709. Oh, well.
Betty Bowers: so close to Jesus, communion is like leftovers. Let Betty give you advice for all things devine.
Need another way to say, "I suck"? Then calcuate your effective footprint on Earth by clicking this link. I carpool, eat lightly, and conserve engery. And I still suck.
Possibly the best search engine on the planet.
The real Hitchhiker's Guide. At least to Earth, that is. An online guide to life on Earth.
What's happening in Seattle?
Slate Magazine. Really, one of the few good online magazines.
Apply for a job at Microsoft! Hey I'm a Recruiter I had to include this link.
Music, Art, Entertainment
Nice free place to get music, if you can stand the constant supply of spam they send you.
I never tried this before it was legal, honest. Now that it is, it is a great way to have a huge number of tunes available at your disposal. Windows Media 10 Beta has built-in integration for Napster, so you don't even have to have a separate program.
Makers of WinAmp, the best durn MP3 player this side of the Pecos. Really really too bad they were bought by AOL. I can't wait to be spammed by AOL ads and music produced by a Time Warner subsidiary. Good thing Windows XP's media player is good!
No Redeeming Value
The coolest sofas on the planet.
Nothing more than the pure karmic fun of popping bubble wrap.
Humanclock. This is a clever site that, well, tells the time.
Find out what a Mullet is, and how you can spot your very own.
This wonderful site will take the URL of any web site and convert it into a porn site. Try it with Grandma's web site. Tons of fun!
How do you dance? Check out this funny flash site and decide if you are a fruit picker or a dog fight explainer.
Visit the home page for Elvis and Graceland to pay your respects to the King. 7 trips to Graceland for me and I still can't get enough.
