Danna and I went with some good friends up to Whistler in January. While everyone worked feverishly to plummet down the mount, Danna and I took a more leisurely and sweaty pace; we went snow shoeing.
Snow shoeing is actually a lot fun. It's kind of like driving a big tank. You can go anywhere, but not very fast. It's also not a terribly quiet experience. The crunch, crunch crunching of the snow as you bumble along will scare off most any wildlife.
Still, we learned a lot about the local wildlife. We saw a nitch in the forest where bears teach their cubs to climb trees, and gazed at the scenery. It really was a fantastic day.
That evening, we drank copious amounts of beer. Really, we didn't actually reserve that for the evening.
Snow Shoein'
Me on my trusty snow shoes. Look pretty happy, don't I? I have just fallen on my bum.
Pretty Blue Tree
Random tree I found and really liked.
Hey, This Is Work
Danna, working feverishly up the hill. Walking is quite a lot of work.
Sun And Snow
Danna and I together, enjoying the sun, out in the middle of nowhere.
Really Long Way Down
Another view from the top of the bridge. No, I wasn't really that infatuated with the bridge, but it was fun to look at the river. Plus, our guide was showing us one of his quiet and ponder nature sides, so we let him be.
View Off The Bridge
Really long way down. Don't look over too far, you might drop something!
Narrow Bridge
Narrow bridge. Long way down. Really cool and fun to walk across, though!
And Todd's, Er, Form
And Mr. Apley, in his tried and true form. What a fine way to round out a weekend at Whistler.
Eric In Form
Speaking of shots...Eric, in his tried and true form.
Last Of The Bridge
The other side of the bridge. Ok, I'm sorry. That's the last of the bridge shots.
